Álvaro Laorden

Alvaro is currently managing Inveralfa Academy.

Alvaro has more than 30 years experience in the Finantial sector, he has worked as Global Head of Market Solutions Sales at CACEIS, a leading global custodian bank which is part of Credit Agricole Group, and asset servicer with nearly €5 trillion in assets under custody.

Previously, Alvaro has been the Head of Treasury and Market Services and Member of the Executive Committee and Authorized Management at Royal Bank of Canada, Investor Services Bank S.A. in Luxembourg, a global custodian bank and asset servicer operating across 10 jurisdictions, with over €1 trillion in assets under administration. The institution was directly supervised by the European Central Bank (ECB). His activity was focused on Treasury and Capital Markets domain. Specialized in Balance Sheet Management, ALM and execution/distribution desks. Extensive experience in processes optimization and projects related to Banking, Capital Markets and Treasury areas, as well as regulatory implementation and cost optimization processes. As Executive Committee Member, experienced in strategy design, governance, and regulatory relationships.

Previously he was Director of Treasury in RBC Spain and member of the Executive Committee and he had different roles in Barclays Bank for 16 years, he was head of Iberia Execution managing areas related to Capital Markets.

Alvaro is Executive Committee member of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg and Board member of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium & Luxembourg. He is an active Professor in Financial, Capital Markets areas and soft skills like communication, mentoring… author of a book and different publications.

He has completed the International Directors Program (IDP) at INSEAD and is a Certified Director accredited by the Luxembourg Institute of Directors (ILA). Alvaro holds degree in Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid, derivatives MEFF and Equity SIBE license and AMF certification.  He speaks  English, Spanish and French.
